The Bamboo Story
My story should be titled: The Search for the Amazing Tee!
Ladies, try going to the mall and finding a t-shirt for yourself that is cute, flattering, comfortable, the right color, AND won’t shrink, fade or bind on the waist!! You might think you’ve found that perfect tee, but after one wash it is faded and is tight! That has been what has happened to me over and over again.
So I started the search for the most amazing tee, the one that looked great, felt great and stayed great!
I had never heard of bamboo fabric when I started this search. However, once I did find bamboo, the more I read, the more I researched, the more intrigued I became. I ordered bamboo shirts and couldn’t believe the feel, the comfort, and the quality.
Then I proceeded to do everything I could – multiple washings, dryer on high heat, red wine stains, jewelry snags – you name it. And they still looked and felt beautiful. The red wine came out with regular stain remover and regular wash. These tees didn’t snag. They didn’t shrink. And the color stays as vibrant as ever.
Not only did I realize that bamboo fabric looked good and felt good, but they ARE good! Bamboo is environmentally friendly. See the section on “Eco-Friendly Fabrics” for more details on all of the ways that bamboo helps the environment. I decided that bamboo would be the amazing tee.

I am a Baby Boomer who considers herself a “t-shirt connoisseur.” My background includes many successful start-up ventures, in the areas of finance and nonprofit. I have an MBA, and have broad experience in finance and marketing. And — as I replied to one of my acquaintances who challenged me that I had never run a t-shirt business — “I have tons of experience buying and wearing t-shirts!!”
