Eco-Friendly Bamboo Scrubs

Monday, September 6th, 2010

Being in any medical profession, chances are that wearing scrubs is simply mandatory and part of your every day life.

Day in and day out, you contend with protecting yourself from potential biohazards.

But what if you could be wearing fashionable, comfortable and most of all, antibacterial fabric, not to mention also being totally “green” at the same time?

Introducing bamboo fabric based scrubs. This fabric is known for being antibacterial, hair deflecting, and most of all strong and protective, yet comfortable. Bamboo is absolutely bug resistant as well. But best of all, it was grown naturally and plentiful without pesticides.

So unless you have a panda bear as a patient, you will reap the benefits of bamboo and basically be wearing a protective shield a step above all those other materials.

Look great, perform more comfortably and gain a bit more peace of mind when it comes to those nasty little germs.

Amazing Tee’s, not just tees, but eco-friendly bamboo fabric scrubs too! Isn’t it time you got yours?

Bamboo Clothing is Cool in the Heat!

Monday, July 5th, 2010

The summer heat is really here! All the more reason to pull out all of my bamboo clothing. Bamboo fabric wicks and is cool. It also doesn’t have an odor like synthetic and cotton fabric. No rings of sweat under the arm pits! My favorite ladies tee in this heat is the tank, which is 20% off right now. In addition, the short sleeve tee’s are perfect, even the one in black.

Fashion Resolutions for 2010!

Sunday, January 17th, 2010

Number One — Always wear jeans that fit, never too tight and never too baggy. Make sure that the legs fall straight and don’t cling to your upper thigh bulges or show the camel! Waist should be at the hips and not cinch creating the muffin top.

Number Two– Discover your color red. Everyone has their own flattering shade. This is the color you wear when you want to attract.

Number Three — Tie your look together with jewelry. Plan ahead, lay it out and choose the look that is best for the total balanced look. Then try it on and see if your face pops.

Number Four — Always be comfortable in your clothing. This impacts how you look, feel and act. If you are not comfortable and are tugging at your clothing, you will not be at your best. Bamboo clothing is soft, silky and comfortable!

Secret to Smooth Youthful Skin

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

My friend Ava has shared her secret!! She has been doing the following for 25 years and man oh man does her skin look great!!

1. Begin with a freshly washed face and neck.

2. Combine 2 tablespoons of Sesame Seed or Olive Oil with 1 heaping teaspoon of Sea Salt. Note: if you have cuts or broken skin, substitute 1 to 2 teaspoons coarse cut oatmeal for salt. Using the corner of a clean wet washcloth, gently rub Oil Mixture over entire face and neck, using small gentle circles. Avoid eyes, eyelids, and delicate under-eye areas.

3. Wash face and neck thoroughly, removing all of the Oil mixture. Dampen a cotton ball with Penta Water and rinse face and neck.  Towel-dry or allow skin to dry naturally.

4. Fill a large pot with water. Bring to a boil and add 2-3 tablespoons of the natural herbal laxative Swiss Kriss for an incredibly cleansing facial steam. Do not use the tablets, they will not break down down well enough. (Swiss Kriss can be found in most drugstores and is inexpensive. Save even more by ordering it online.) Let herbs simmer for several minutes. Remove pot from heat and place on a stable surface. Place towel over head to keep steam from escaping. Take the facial steam for 5 to 15 minutes, depending on tolerance. Use caution as steamm can burn skin.

5. Use another clean cotton ball with Penta Water to rinse face and neck.

6. Break open a capsule of Vitamin A. Spread over face and neck, including the under eye area. Leave on overnight. (Cover pillows with towels to avoid staining.) Note: Alternating PURE aloe veral gel with Vitam A oil also works well.

7. In the morning, wash your face and resume your usual skin care routine.

Use this routine as described aove once a week at night before bed. After four consecutive weeks, look for resultts. After that, once a month for maintenance. For additional over-all skin care: Replace processed foods with natural ones. Always drink plenty of water. Use sunscreen. Exercise regularly.

Best Drug Store Buys

Sunday, March 15th, 2009

I found a great new source of information on beauty products.  “Don’t Go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me” by Paula Begoun (subscription web site is beautypedia). She lists the best value products that can be bought at the drug store.  For example, one of the best inexpensive foundations with sunscreen for normal to dry skin is Revlon Colorstay makeup with SoftFlex for Normal to Dry skin SPF 15, approximately $13.  One of the best inexpensive concealers is Revlon Age Defying Concealer SPF 20, about $9.  And best inexpenisve blush: Maybelline New York Dream Mousse Blush, about $7.50.  She also recommends Maybelline’s new Colossal mascara and Olay Regenerist.  The expensive thing she can’t live without?  Allergan’s Latisse eyelash grower that just came out.  You can buy all of these products with no shipping and possible discounts at:

Bamboo Tees Hide Tummy Spillover

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

Got your attention right?  There’s nothing we hate more than the tummy spill, especially over the jeans.  It’s that spare tire that’s caught on the waist band.  What’s a girl to do ?  Wear bamboo!  It drapes and doesn’t cling.  If you want to be doubly sure, don’t wear jeans or other pants with too tight waists.  The tight waist pushes your love handles and tummy up and out.  Cotton tees that bind, well aren’t bamboo tees that float better?

Searching for the Fountain of Youth

Saturday, February 28th, 2009

How many of you over the age of 30 don’t want to look as young as possible? I’m gonna guess zero! Wearing my comfortable soft natural bamboo tees from http//www.AmazingTeesandMore.com, I want my skin to look as good as possible. So I have been trying just about every serum that is out there. And I’m finding some good ones that really do seem to be making a difference! The absolute best and mos important is Prevage sold by Elizabeth Arden. While it is a bit expensive, it is the most effective serum sold with or without a prescription. I also think all of the Kinerase products are worth their weight in gold, especially the face lift and the eye lift. Go to: Beauty.com

Ladies Bamboo Tees

Ladies Bamboo Tees

No matter what the garment is, it is more comfortable, more eco-friendly and more flattering when made from bamboo.  Bamboo became a way of life for me as soon as I put on my first bamboo tee.  I’m interested in how others feel about this so I am starting a regular topic on Bamboo Fashion.  The intent is to share fashion and beauty ideas for those of us who love the amazing comfort, look and eco-friendliness of bamboo clothing! New designs, colors, types of fabric and style suggestions are welcome!  I will be adding posts regarding new clothing and accessory finds.  I hope that you will do the same!
