Marian Keyes — Fun Books to Read

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

Love her books! They are light, face paced, FUNNY, but also deal with deep issues. Just finished This Charming Man which deals with physical abuse and alcoholism. While reading the very graphic description of the addiction, also went to see Broken Hearts which graphically shows being in the grip of alcoholism. The good news is that both have uplifting endings. Morale — stay in tune with your surroundings, your family and friends and your inner self. It helps to be wearing bamboo!

New Products at Amazing Tee’s

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

I am very excited to add Alo brand bamboo tops to my website. There are four ladies tees with a wonderful range of colors and styles. These are 70% bamboo and 30% cotton. I have been wearing them and testing them for the last week and just love ‘em!! I also added a men’s classic t-shirt that comes in black, white, navy, slate and steel blue. It is also 70% bamboo and 30% cotton, but it has a lighter feel than my Amazing Tee’s brand. I would describe the Amazing Tee’s brand as more “cushiony” and plush. But the Alo brand is very soft as well! Check them out!

Secret to Smooth Youthful Skin

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

My friend Ava has shared her secret!! She has been doing the following for 25 years and man oh man does her skin look great!!

1. Begin with a freshly washed face and neck.

2. Combine 2 tablespoons of Sesame Seed or Olive Oil with 1 heaping teaspoon of Sea Salt. Note: if you have cuts or broken skin, substitute 1 to 2 teaspoons coarse cut oatmeal for salt. Using the corner of a clean wet washcloth, gently rub Oil Mixture over entire face and neck, using small gentle circles. Avoid eyes, eyelids, and delicate under-eye areas.

3. Wash face and neck thoroughly, removing all of the Oil mixture. Dampen a cotton ball with Penta Water and rinse face and neck.  Towel-dry or allow skin to dry naturally.

4. Fill a large pot with water. Bring to a boil and add 2-3 tablespoons of the natural herbal laxative Swiss Kriss for an incredibly cleansing facial steam. Do not use the tablets, they will not break down down well enough. (Swiss Kriss can be found in most drugstores and is inexpensive. Save even more by ordering it online.) Let herbs simmer for several minutes. Remove pot from heat and place on a stable surface. Place towel over head to keep steam from escaping. Take the facial steam for 5 to 15 minutes, depending on tolerance. Use caution as steamm can burn skin.

5. Use another clean cotton ball with Penta Water to rinse face and neck.

6. Break open a capsule of Vitamin A. Spread over face and neck, including the under eye area. Leave on overnight. (Cover pillows with towels to avoid staining.) Note: Alternating PURE aloe veral gel with Vitam A oil also works well.

7. In the morning, wash your face and resume your usual skin care routine.

Use this routine as described aove once a week at night before bed. After four consecutive weeks, look for resultts. After that, once a month for maintenance. For additional over-all skin care: Replace processed foods with natural ones. Always drink plenty of water. Use sunscreen. Exercise regularly.

Amazing Jaguar Bamboo T-Shirt

Amazing Jaguar Bamboo T-Shirt

I am so sad — the beautiful jaguar that was accidentally captured in southern Arizona and then released with a tracking collar two weeks ago, has been euthanized. Apparently, he developed severe kidney failure. The tracking collar revealed decreasing physical activity, so the Fish and Game department recaptured him and took him to the Phoenix Zoo for euthanization. The tragedy is that it may have been the stress from the initial capture that triggered the kidney failure. Just yesterday we had decided to donate 10% of the sale of the Amazing Jaguar bamboo t-shirt to the Phoenix Zoo. Click on the shirt for more details.

Jaguar Spotted Southwest of Tucson, Arizona

Friday, February 20th, 2009

arizona-jaguar1An amazing and true story!  A jaguar was spotted southwest of Tucson on February 18, captured and is now being tracked with a satellite tracking collar!  This is so exciting.  It is the first time a tracking collar has been placed on a jaguar in the United States.  The report is that the jaguar has already travelled 3 miles from where he was captured!

The jaguar weighs 118 pounds with a thick and solid build. The field biologists said the cat appeared healthy and hardy.   If jaguars fascinate you, go to:  http://www.amazingteesus.com/shop/index.php?main_page=page&id=26&chapter=3
