Save the Tiger!
The magnificent Siberian Tiger is the largest of all six tiger subspecies. It is considered critically endangered. The majority of the dwindling population can be found in Russia’s southern far east regions. The male averages 675 lbs. and the female 250 to 300 lbs. A carnivore, it is a solitary hunter and preys primarily on wild boar, deer, moose, as well as bear. The Siberian Tiger has additional fur due to the very cold climate of its habitat. During winter months, the fur can measure 21 inches long and 3,000 hairs per centimeter. The paws also have extra fur to insulate from the snow.
Amazing Fact: The Siberian Tiger can leap in distance as far as 10 meters or over 30 feet!
